    Cannot connect to servers


    It has been about five hours now that I have not been able to connect to servers. I can play battlefield 1 and kill people all day. But when I switch to gears 4 it can't connect to servers for multiplayer. I pre ordered the special edition now i am stuck
    playing battlefield can we get this fixed please? I've even gone as far as removing the digital download and re downloading that took at least a hour and it didn't resolve anything. This is also after I have gone through three Microsoft employees that could
    not troubleshoot what was going on. Two of which were pc techs and didn't understand that I am a Xbox player and not playing on the pc. I have done a hard reset as well as going the extra mile and removing my gamertag from my Xbox and recovering it. I would
    like to get back to bouncing all over these n00bz so could we get this situation figured out please?

    Xboxlive is having an overload of players between Halo 4 and COD:BO2. Its going to be an issue on and off for a while and even worse when christmas comes. Its happening with other games too. Its xboxlive.

    Welcome to the Xbox Forum!

    There aren't currently any issues or server maintenance affecting online multiplayer in Black Ops Cold War:

    Activision online service status

    Xbox Live Status

    What console is your daughter using - Xbox One or Series X|S?

    What's your NAT type - ‘Open’, ‘Moderate’ or ‘Strict’? Ideally, you want this to be ‘open’ to play online.

    From what I've found on this error, changing the DNS server can help. Unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be any known solutions to this error, only temporary workarounds.

    If you're connected to a wireless network, you might want to try using a wired connection to see if this helps or try another network, a mobile hotspot maybe?

    Just an update to let all know that I fired Halo 4 up the other day and all was fine again.

    Looks like its just one of those things that we will have to deal with at this busy gaming time of year.

    It seems to be a very intermittant issue and it is the first time I have experienced it. No split screen was involved but frustrating either way round.
