Cannot connect to internet in new house.

I can't really do that, my internet connection and router are on the other side of the house, and on a different floor. Plus, it seems that I am connecting via wireless (at least it says it's connected?), I just cannot move past that point.

I can connect to my home network which is secured by a pass code. When I go to a friend's house or like I am now, on vacation, I cannot connect to the internet. It always me to connect to the network though. Is it something in my preferences for my account
that is restricting me from being able to connect to the internet?

Some connection types and Internet service providers (ISPs) cannot access Xbox LIVE Marketplace from the Xbox 360 console. We are aware of this problem and we are working with ISPs to resolve the problem.

Solution: Use a different Internet connection

Connect your Xbox 360 console to the Internet at another location using a different ISP. For example, take the console to a friend’s house and connect to the Internet there.

I have internet connection but cannot sign in or add a new account

Cannot connect to Xbox Live, Southern California... router/xbox reset, connection test, all do not resolve the issue... connection test says I am on the internet (posting this through computer in the same house, so obviously on the internet)... just won't
connect to Live... was playing up till 5 PM pacific Time without issue... now, at 10 PM will not connect... frustrating...
