Cannot Connect my Xbox to the Companion app

I am trying to connect to my Xbox from the Xbox companion app on Windows 10 but the Xbox is not showing up on the app and it's also not finding it when I try search by the IP. Both Xbox and PC are on the same network. I have tried the help offered
on support.xbox.com but it did not help. Anyone have ideas?

Sorry to hear it. My name is Kelly and I'm a fellow Xbox gamer. If your console has a wireless connection try using an Ethernet cable so the PC can recognize it. After that you should be able to go wireless again

Change your Xbox name!

May sound funky, but it works.

Settings - System - Console Info

Rename your Xbox to something other than 'XBOX ONE'

Submit the name.

Accept the Restart Request.

Now pair as you normally would on Windows 10, Tablet & Mobile App

I have this issue intermittently and I am able to reconnect by shuting down my pc completely and doing a hard reboot on my xboxone. When I relaunch the companion app I normally can see my xboxone.

Hello,

I am having the exact same issue.

To find the Xbox app connectivity it has been moved to Devices and Connections- Remote Features-Xbox App preferences. Then you click whether to enable streaming and so on.

For me I have enabled everything and still cannot get the Xbox Companion App to connect to my Xbox One.

Hopefully someone has the answer!

Just checked they are all green good to go but I'll check one minute maybe I was using it during the outage. No it's still not working. 😒😒😒😒😒
