Cannot configure Xbox Elite Series 2 Controller - error 0x800708CA

I get the below error whenever I try to use the app. I have updated Windows to latest version, tried logging into a Microsoft account, etc-- no change. When I search this error code in general it seems to be related to group policy, which I have implemented,
but have no idea why it would affect something this simple and there are no references to it anywhere with relation to this app. as far as I can tell group policy should have no bearing on a program as basic as a controller configurator.

I have the same problem. I can use the conroller without the pedals, using USB, Bluetooth or the XBox-Dongle I purchased seperately. Configuration of via the App won't work. Error:

I really like the controller, but not being able to use the profiles sucks... Not so happy with the thing anymore.

Windows 10 is up to date, the Firmware of the controller updated with the app the first time I plugged it in, I event tried changing to login in with Microsoft account.

PAY ATTENTION

THE ISSUE : we* are unable to "CONFIGURE**" the controls of the Xbox Elite controller 2, using the XBOX accessories APP in Windows 10.

Even though the controller IS connected and working properly, even if the controller is physically wired to the system, when we try to configure the controller surfaces,
an error window pops up saying,

There is a problem with our connection to the controller

disconnect, error 0X800708CA

The controller does work, the controller IS connected to the machine. unfortunately we are unable to use the services that the extra surfaces on the controller provide. which is the reason for having purchased such an expensive
object in the first place.

IF YOU HAVE A CANNED RESPONSE TO THIS, I DO not WANT TO HEAR OR SEE IT, JUST DO YOUR JOB!!

*(when i say "WE" i mean all elite controller users)

I should add that the controller is connected via USB-C and that this error code has not been addressed in any similar topics which have all been closed.

I was away on business but I don't understand your instructions. This is on PC and I do not own other xbox controllers.
