Cannot CLAIM xbox gamer tag

hi,

i was trying to change my gamer tag. The tag is available and the button „claim it“ appeared.

I know i have to pay 10$ because i have no free change anymore.

now when i press „claim now“ i should get to the shop and confirm and pay 10$. But nothing happens. It is loading, button is disabled for a few seconds, then the button changes back to clickable and nothing else happens.

i saw in the developer console (networking) the HTTP Request that is performed, returns with 403 Status Code. Whats wrong here?

i tries to login/out many times and also tried to change in xbox app (not possible, only on the web), edge and chrome. Everywhere the same behavior...

Bug? Offline?

original gamertags not taken 2013

Original gamer tags means without any numbers or letters like xx, ol, xl lx etc...

They claimed to have made a bunch of the old unused tags reusable last year, but not all of them have. As my original Xbox tag is still not available.

 

I cant play Destiny?

the gamer tag with gold... Would that person happen to be using that gamer tag in another Xbox?

 

Try it logged on to a different device and see if the problem persists.

 

I would recommend trying a different device (Computer, Xbox, etc.) and see if it does the same thing on them. It may also be worth while to try it on your computer on a different network, in case it's a networking or service issue. If it works then it
was an issue on the original device or network, if it doesn't work then I would guess that there's another underlying issue. Most likely you would have to contact Xbox support to have them investigate why it's not working.
