Cannot change safety for my child xbox account on windows 10

My child wants to play with his cousin a game. He wanted to add him as friend. Since he is 10, he cannot add due to privacy settings that needs to be managed by an adult.

Of course his live account was not tied to an adult. So I added to my family. I can see him as a child in my family (Microsoft account | Your family) but if I get to Privacy settings (Sign in to your Microsoft account),
    I cannot see him.

Bottom line, I add him as friend but he cannot accept me nor add his cousin as friend until I change his privacy settings that I cannot change, because he is family in Microsoft but does not show up in xbox.

Forums state that I can click on his icon in the family page and change his xbox settings. Actually, his Icon or name is not clickable and if I go to Manager Permissions. I get an empty Manage Permissions page: Sign in to your Microsoft account

What can I do ? Is there anything missing ?

    Regards,

    Jorge

Privacy and online safety settings not working

I am trying to change a child account online settings via my adult account that is part of the same xbox family, this is to let the child account play online etc. I can change some privacy settings but not the xbox one/windows 10 online safety settings.
when I tick to allow the 'Join multiplayer games' setting and then click submit it just resets it back.

if you want to find out what settings I am trying to change, go to the xbox live site, sign in and go to xbox settings. on the left should be a button that says 'privacy and online safety' then click 'xbox one/windows 10 online safety settings'

any help would be appreciated Cannot change safety for my child xbox account on windows 10 :)

That is precisely what I am trying to. Do. We don't have an Xbox console. Only the Xbox app in Windows 10. Therefore the only way is to follow the instructions for XBOX.COM:

    From Xbox.com
Change privacy and safety settings for you or a child
    1. Sign in to the adult's Microsoft account at Xbox.com.
If you’ve forgotten your account email address or password, see the Lost Account Solution or the Lost
      Password Solution
      .
    2. Under My Xbox, select Profile.
    3. Select Privacy settings or Online safety on Xbox One.
Due to the secure nature of these settings, you may be asked to enter a security code that we’ll send to the alternate phone number or email address previously saved to your account.
    4. Select the account you want to look at.
    5. Review the settings currently in place and update those you want to change.
    6. Save your changes on each tab before moving on to the next.

In step 4 I only find myself. My child is not there,

To the left of the Icon bar I have the following menu:

    Xbox settings

    Change password

    Change gamertag

    Contact preferences

    Forums preferences

    Xbox 360 profile protection

    Privacy & online safety

    Microsoft family

Clicking on Microsoft Family my child is there.

So my question remains, why I can have my child in Microsoft Family but not under Privacy & Online Settings ?

Thank you for bringing this up. You need to use an Xbox console for you to add your child's account. Here is a

link on how to add a new member to your family on Xbox.

So basically, if I don´t have a console, I cannot change my childs permission on the Xbox App on the PC and he cannot play with others online using the Xbox app on the PC.

Ok then, I will tell him to stick to Steam, more user friendly and manageable.
