Cannot change privacy settings or buy things on Xbox store

So basically I've rang support up and they don't know what it is , so what's happening is I've transferred my xbox 360 account over to my xbox one and I try to buy things and it comes up with a message that I need to change my privacy settings so I go onto
settings and onto privacy and online safety but it comes up with this message instead of the options of adult child custom etc. "your privacy settings are in effect, but cannot be changed until we connect to the service " what does it mean and how do I
change it so I can start buying stuff on my Xbox one???

Can't buy things on xbox one store because of privacity.

So I go to xbox store click to buy and it says that my privacy do not allow me to buy things, I go to settings and change the privacy and still can't, don't know why.

I have same problem. Been talking to support several times over 3 days, getting back in touch after recommended time passed to see if problem fixed.

My problem is the with the parent account, its not used but even if I sign in that account there is no option to change my settings. So question is why have parent account, it doesn't work and causes more problems. One way to see which email is used for
parent is to try and change some privacy setting on xbox360. Thats the only way I could actually see which email it was myself, but support had told me which account it was.

The higher team are meant to be sorting this out but there taking their time so don't hold your breath.

Let me know if you managed to get it fixed, I would also like to buy games on Xbox one.

 

You have to sign with the parent account, make sure you only signed in with parent. Go to settings and on right side you should see. The child account and then you can click on it and change settings.

 

Getting the higher team to sort out problems with parent account works. Hope getting the parent account and changes security setting for your account works.
