Cannot change my gametag for first time

Hi,

I would like to seek help as i cannot change my gametag for first time.

Only showing below statement while claiming it after verify the gametag is available.

"Something went wrong Give it another try. If this happens again, let us know by entering the code below at xbox.com/errorhelp so we can investigate."

The free name change is also available if you created the account on the 360.

However the free name change was only brought in December time last year when the account creation procedure changed. It changed in that instead of picking an account name at the start of the process, you were assigned a random gamertag. So the free change
was given so that you could again pick one that you wanted.

Simply put they switched you picking your own gamertag from the beginning to the end of the process.

The OPs account was created before the end of last year, so the free name change does not apply.

The first free one is good during the first 30 days of a account. I believe it is only a account created off of Xbox.com. The rep on the phone can not give you a FNC. A forced name change is a black mark against your account, not really worth it to save
800msp. I would suggest either you change it on your own with points or leave it be.

 

Still cannot make it...Also tried in Edge, or even using MacBook.

 

Hey LamNgai! To clarify, are you attempting to purchase a gamertag change? It looks like you've already used your first gamertag change. Additionally, does the error message give you an error code to enter? If so, please post it here and I'll take a look.
