Cannot buy Xbox 360 games on Xbox One or the website (switches to US store).

Hello,

I have a slight problem which I saw some other people had since 2015, but no solution was found.

I moved to Latin America from the US, and changed regions accordingly. I have no problems buying my Gold Sub or Xbox One games with my current cards or paypal account, but whenever I try to buy an Xbox 360 game, at first it shows the price in the local currency,
but after clicking buy, it switches to the US store asks me to pay in US dollars, which I cannot do, since I no longer have a US credit card, and paypal shows an error since it's associated to my local card.

I tried removing all US associated payment methods, but it still does the switch. The region in both my Xbox and Microsoft accounts reflects my current location.

I tried different browsers, the app, purchasing through the console, all with the same result.

It's quite peculiar that it only affects Xbox 360 games and none of the other associated services or XBox One games, which I'm able to purchase normally.

Does anyone know a workaround this situation or is it a permanent thing?

You'll have to buy the game on here,
the website, or on a Xbox 360. You cannot purchase Xbox 360 content through Xbox One.

@GITS09 Unfortunately you cannot buy Xbox 360 games directly through the One marketplace. You need to do it through a 360 console or the website.

 

Solved with a solution found in a forum post from another member. I'll leave it in case someone else has the same issue.

You have to change the region for your 360 too. Even if you never had a 360, apparently it defaults to the US if you want to play your games in English.

In any case, everything works fine now. I hope this helps someone having the same issue.
