Cannot buy Dead Space 2 & region restrictions?

Hi community team,

I have a problem with getting the current Games with Gold game “Dead Space 2” I was earlier today told by the Microsoft support that I’m not able to get this game due to region restrictions. I´m confused because this game was also shown on the German page for
“Games with Gold”.

When I try to buy Dead Space 2 on the marketplace.xbox.com I get the following error: “Your purchase cannot be completed at this time. Please try again.”

I don’t want to fake my region. Please advise.

Am I missing much by not getting Dead Space 2 brand new?

So with Dead Space 3 coming out soon I want to revist Dead Space 1 and pick up Dead Space 2 whilst I am at it. I understand Dead Space 2 comes with a online pass though? is it one just for the stupid multiplayer mode they put in? if so I couldn't care less
and will buy pre-owned.

Just beat dead space 2 last week and 2 weeks ago I beat batman arkham origins.

Right now I'm on assassin creed 4, bioshock 2, toy soldiers, I am probably gonna buy cold cold heart dlc for batman ao, and I'm gonna buy dead space 3.

 

Same problem here in New Zealand.

I don’t think that this region restrictions are fair without an alternative for those who are affected, like providing another game.



I bought my “Games with Gold” subscription with the expectation of 4 games each month, instead of actually buying game. This user experience is negative because I only got 75 % of my expectation, when I only get 3 out of 4 games, that is not satisfying.



I hope this region restriction is only a one time instance / mistake. Else, I have to fake my Xbox account setting on purpose to a country without any region restrictions. I would find that solution sad for the Xbox community.
