    Cannot authorise child account from parent account -continuous loop and unhelpful MS Support :(


    I think my issue is related to this: Trouble Giving Parental Consent for Xbox Child Account and
    in particular this element: "Note In some instances, you can’t change the country/region setting in the child’s account until the information in the parent’s account is verified. For example, this issue can occur if the country/region in the child
    account is set to US. If you can’t change the country/region setting in the child account, contact Xbox Support. You’ll need the Microsoft account email address for both the parent
    and the child accounts."

    So I contacted support and spent three hours on chat with antoinette She was pleasant enough but spent 3 hours doing the same thing over and over again like ground hog day. Even with the highlighted article it was only at the end it seemed to click
    with her that the country of my childs account may need migrated to the UK event though I meintioned this as a possibility as I knew mines was in the UK. This happened first months ago and son has been without xbox live and I tried then when quite a few people
    had the same sorts of issue with child accounts.

    But even when it looked like I was getting somewhere at last she cut me off the chat when I highlighted the link above as what I had started the chat with. I ws perfectly pleasant through all of this so there was no need to curtail the chat. I have
    the chat as a pdf and my sons account is still useless. Just looking for a way forward and think that antoinette should have some extra training as well so others do not end up with a wasted evening.

    I was going to buy a new xbox live mebership and set him up fresh but thought I would give it one more chance with support but t would have been a lot easier to have just bought the new membership and be done with it Cannot authorise child account from parent account -continuous loop and unhelpful MS Support :( :(

    hoping someone from support actually cares about the service they are offering and would like to help on both issues here.

    P.s. I work in IT support and this chat support has been one of my worst support experiences so far.... it was like talking to a goldfish!!!

    Avatar Companion blocked for child account - Parent can't purchase for a kid? Seriously?

    So, my daughter wants to purchase an avatar item, Baby Groot Companion, for her avatar from the marketplace store. The item is FREE. She's blocked from doing so by MS due to being a child/teen account. Even though I am her parent, and even though I changed the family settings to allow her to purchase content and even though I have billing setup with MS, she still CANNOT purchase the item. I can't purchase it for her. Seriously?!!

    Who in their infinite wisdom decided that FREE content allowed by a parent, can still NOT be purchased by a child? Come to think of it, if this is the case, why is there no way for a parent to purchase content and gift it to a child account?

    Unable to add son to xbox one

    As above,

    Select child
    Sign in as parent
    get to the 50c card authorisation, add card details
    Then get card already exists on account - go through screens - again!!

    Then after about 10 minutes updating account it fails with code 45468.7036976521340.5055251569016685

    Go to xbox errorhelp - can't find it Cannot authorise child account from parent account -continuous loop and unhelpful MS Support :( :(

    Can anybody help please we are pulling our hair out on this

    Just to say the card is on account from xbox and also Microsoft accounts linked to the parents account!

  6. Desquinn it could be that the child account is associated with different parent account so it may be something that you will want to look into. You can find out who the parent is by calling into Xbox support at 1-800-469-9269 you will need to be able to
    fortify the child account by them sending a code to the email that is associated with your kids account. Once they have done the agent would be able to tell you the email that is over your kids account. Once you have done this I will get you the next steps
    if the support agent does not finish it up.

    I was on the chat with support for 3+ hours and verified accounts and relationships in all possible ways. It is my account hat is the parent account and my sons account is linked and showing on my account but I have a loop continusously with it wanting
    me to complete the parental consent for the child account.

    its been like thi sfor months and my son has had no use from the account. I am just frustrated that the last time I was on support for that amount of time and the agent hung up on me. I wonder if I am best to phone in sin ce the forum and chat are not helping.

    A mail from support earlier had got lost in the middle of all the junk email on my hotmail account so I missed it altogether. Dan from support has been in touch and has hopefully corrected the issue and pointing the agent towards some more training which
    is great.

    Still to test this but I am sure it will be ok now. And it does seem to be that my original account was set as US and my sons which is much more recent was a UK one. Probably as I have a very old hotmail/live account more than likely Cannot authorise child account from parent account -continuous loop and unhelpful MS Support :( :(
