    Cannot authenticate


    Hi there

    I have an ongoing problem with connecting my xbox one. It keeps asking me to authenticate and i then get a black screen after seeing the msn page. I have tried adding a windows mac address manually and that doesnt work either.

    I tried a factory reset and then couldn't install the latest update so had to do an offline update.

    Any ideas?

    Tried this. Just found it works on a different network so must be my router/isp?

    Try performing a hard rest.

    Hold down the power button until the console shuts down.

    Unplug the power cable.

    Wait 5 minutes and plug it back in and restart the console that might solve the Problem

    If you're part of the Xbox Insiders you CAN'T use OSU's (offline updates).

    If it "couldn't install the latest update" you most likely have an issue with your network access and when you factory reset the console you would have to authenticate your profile to redownload it.

    I would power cycle your router/gateway and wait until its fully functional BEFORE turning your console back on. Also try a wired ethernet cable to connect console to gateway.
