Cannot add payment option to my account!

Hi.my name is Umut.I'm from Turkey.I'm living in Turkey.My credit card's billing address is located in Turkey.My Xbox account's region is US.

First of all,i'm having some issues about adding a payment option to my account.So that i've contacted with Xbox Support 2 days ago and they told me that they will send this issue to their advocacy team to investigate and try to solve.And they added,it takes
3 business days approximately.But,right now i'm still waiting for an message or response from Advocacy Team but i got nothing.

So what im saying what im curious is if i add a paypal account to my Xbox account will i able to download this month's free games with gold game Sniper Elite V2 and if i add my paypal account will I able to purchase some great titles from Ultimate Game Sales
for my Xbox 360.

By the way I don't have any console right now.I'm planning to buy an xbox 360 in about 2-3 weeks but i dont want to miss some great discounts for State of Decay,Batman Arkham City etc.

and more and more i was getting an error message while i was trying to add my credit card,if I get an paypal account will i use it?will i able to add this to my account?will i able to get games with gold titles on xbox.com website?

I got this error code when every time i tried to add a payment option.

How to Manage your Xbox LIVE payment options

Overview

You can choose to use more than one payment method for your Xbox LIVE account. The payment options include credit cards and PayPal accounts. You can use these payment options to buy items from Xbox LIVE Marketplace.

The 2-year Xbox LIVE Gold Contract uses only credit cards as the payment option. The other payment options like Debit Cards, Prepaid cards and PayPal are not valid for this subscription. However, you can change your payment to another credit card.

If it is before the end of the two years and there is no credit card associated with your account, it is assumed you have terminated the subscription, and you will be charged an Early Termination Fee and any applicable taxes.

It is easy to edit your payment options on your console or at Xbox.com

Steps to Follow

Add or change a payment option using your console

1) Use your Xbox LIVE gamertag to Sign in.

2) Proceed to Settings and then select Account.

3) Select Manage Payment Options, and then choose either of the following:

• If you want to add a new credit card, select Add Credit Card.
• If you want to use your PayPal account on Xbox LIVE, select Add PayPal. You will be required to enter your PayPal username and password. Follow the instructions to add PayPal as a payment option. You cannot use PayPal as a payment option for the 2 year Xbox LIVE Gold Contract. PayPal is not available in all regions.

4) After making changes to payment options, select Update Payment Option.

Add or Change a payment option on Xbox.com

1) Go to My Account.

2) Select Payments and Billings and click on Manage Payment Options.

3) You may be required to Sign in using your Microsoft account (email and password).

4) Proceed to do either of the following:

If you want to edit a payment option, select Edit.

If you want to add a payment option, you can do either of the following:

• Click on Add New Credit Card and enter the credit card information
• Click on PAY with PayPal and follow the instructions.

 

Constant Download Errors

And I also cannot add any payment option probably because my credit card region also coincides with my xbox account region. Thus I cant purchase anything from the marketplace.

please be aware that if your region on the account doesn't match your physical region you most likely will encounter problems with downloading games, since games can be regionally locked and will therefor only download if you are physically in that region.
A payment option must also match the region of the account, so that could also be the cause of the problem

Since Turkey is a supported region I would advise to migrate your account to Turkey, this will also allow you to use payment options suited for your country. See this link on how to migrate and what the possible consequences are:

Thank you for your answer but i was using a credit card ending with *9307 and i havent faced an issue about this region match stuff.I mean I purchased lots of games to my account while i'm physically located in Turkey but while my account's region is US.Still,im
getting same payment option error.

I will change my region from US to Turkey(where I'm actually located) after i download my games when i got an Xbox 360.But if i change my region now what happens the games i purchased?if some of them are region locked and maybe if some of them are not exist
one Turkey Xbox Digital Store will i able to download them anyway?

And last but not least are you sure that the error message i mentioned in this thread will resolve after I change my region?

if the games are available in the Turkish store for xbox they should be available to download.

No I'm not sure it's related to that, but there are often download issues and payment issues when region of the account and physical regions or payment option regions do not match.

 

thank you for your answer.I got a message from Advocacy Team and they told me the same.I'll change my region from US to Turkey.

But,one last question.I've read something like ''after you change your region you might not access your Xbox account up to 6 weeks''

is is true?I mean if i change my region will i continue to play games on my Xbox 360 and access my outlook.com account,immediately?

 

Yes. The region change can take some time to fully complete, most things are often instant but in some cases it can take a while. You should be able to play games etc, but buying things etc could be affected.

I'm afraid there is no way to tell up front, if it will be instant or may take longer.
