cannot add friend

my friend at school gave me his gamertag, and i can see hid profile fine.

when I send friend request, it says sent.

I look at pending requests and it's not there, and he says he never gets it.

I have tried this at least 20 times. my dad tried to help, and couldn't figure it out either.

when he adds me, it does the same thing. but i can add other friends just fine.

There's a current issue with the service, it's being addressed, no problem with your account check

Literally 1 hour after I posted this they fixed my account. This company knows more about me then my own grandma I think... Thank you for fixing my issue so fast.

 

Have you tried making the friend request on the forums here?

If not, give it a try. Also, find out how many friends he has on his list. It may be possible that his list is full at the moment.

 

When i type someones name in and its not exactly what the gamertag is ( capitol letters and such) i get the closest gamertag resembling it. Just be sure you got it wrote down exactly. Has happened to me many times

 

I tried from the website, no luck.

I tried finding his profiel, and just selecting add as friend. No luck.

Even tried finding him on my dads xbox one, and still same thing.

I think it has to do with his profile, because i can add other people fine.

 

Alright, the issue may be with parental settings then. Either your parents, your friends parents, or both have restricted the addition of friends on your accounts. They will need to go into the settings of your account to change that.
