Cannot add a friend

Hi guys. Wasn't quite sure where to post this question but this seemed almost right.

My problem is that I recently tried to add one of my friends from work on my xbox live account. I sent him a request like normal and waited. Well a few days later, I asked him if he'd been on and if he seen my request. He had seen it and he accepted it and
I was on his friend list. I looked back on my account, and the friend request is still pending.

Now we've tried deleting each other, resending requests, and what not, but for some reason, only I seem to be added to his account but I can't see him on mine. I was curious if there was some way to fix this. Thanks.

There's a current issue with the service, it's being addressed, no problem with your account check
support.xbox.com/.../xbox-live-status for updates.

Alright, the issue may be with parental settings then. Either your parents, your friends parents, or both have restricted the addition of friends on your accounts. They will need to go into the settings of your account to change that.

This is probably happening because of server load issues. This should be fixed soon. This happened to me a bit ago, but it resolved itself. If this problem persist longer than you think is supposed to be, contact Xbox Support via LAN Line or Cell Phone.

 

Okay. I was wondering because I had no problem in the past adding people but since months ago, it seemed to be an issue. I will wait and see. Thank you.
