Cannot access Xbox one settings

I am unable to access the settings for my Xbox one. It hangs after entering A button on settings. I have tested with all non essential devices disconnected including connect. I can access and log in to EA servers, Xbox Live Gold. I can log in to Netflix
and watch a movie. I have reset networking gear just to remove variable. Network works fine on computer and can log in to router fine.

Forza 5 also fails to load after Turn 10 and Microsoft splash screens. No audio plays during these splash screens as well.

Not sure what the problem is. Any thoughts?

Cannot access settings

Hold the power button on the console for 10 seconds or until the power shuts down completely. Unplug the power cord from the back of the console for 5 minutes. Plug the power cord back in and restart the console. Once it is back up and operational test
for results.

if you cant access settings to do a factory restore , you will have to use the "offline update tool "

I was able to get a little further into settings. Accessed settings via menu button on controller. First layer menu loaded. Accessed System. Next layer of menu did not load completely. I could navigate to ares, IE Console Info, Name, Reset Factory Defaults,
etc. Only items visible on screen was highlighted menu option. Could not use B button to go back. Now Accessing Settings via Menu Button on controller go straight to this System menu with highlighted item only item displayed. Reconnected all components.
(Cable box, Connect and optical audio cable) No change.

 

Yep, same problem here. It seems broken and feels like RMA procedure coming up.

 

Had left the power completely off for 5-10 minutes, after that it worked again. The last thing I changed before the problem occured was power toggles within TV -> Device Control (to Toggle for STB and TV). Have now changed it back to do Nothing. Not sure
if that was the cause of the issue though, it's just the last thing I did.

 

Problem persists, the TV app is also flaky (same behaviour as Settings). Will try and see if can come up with a problem definition. Let me know if you (or anyone) had made progress on this issue.

 

Have you both tried a factory resetting already?

 

Not yet, trying to figure out what causes it. Think it has something to do with TV settings. Changed back to 60Hz, removed STB device and TV (under Device Control). Looking to see if that makes a difference.

 

I am having the exact same issue. My voice commands have not been working once I power on the xbox one. So I was going to check the settings to make sure everything is set up correctly. I'm not able to access the settings menu at all either. It just
hangs when it tries to load the app. Any help would be appreciated

 

^^ same here, voice commands not working and unable to access settings menu. When I click settings, the gear icon goes fullscreen for about 60 seconds and then Xbox just goes back to home screen. I disconnected the power and the kinect cables from the back
of the xbox for a few minutes and then after reconnecting all and powering up everything now works fine.

 

Since I have been running the 1410 preview build (October Update) I have not seen the issue again.

 

I am having the same problem. The only way I can access my settings is the menu button and the Xbox can't hear my voice commands. I even tried to recalibrate my Kinect but it still doesn't hear me. This problem started for me after I started playing Destiny.
Is that the case for anyone else?

 

Just to mention, but while playing Destiny the Kinect is disabled by the game, if you take a closer look.

 

I, too...am having the same problem. The system just hangs when I click the settings button.
