Discus and support Cannot access the downloaded games in PC in XBoX Games and Apps to solve the problem; Split from this thread.     Cannot access the downloaded games in PC


    I have the exact same issue and tried the last suggestion and still I cannot access my already downloaded games on my PC using the Xbox for PC app it says in the green banner how to fix or suggests how to fix it but nothing works especially within powershell the command get appx isnt recognised even when running as administrator

    We understand that you are experiencing issues to access your downloaded games from your PC. As per description, you have tried already the suggested troubleshooting steps in the main thread but still the issue persists.

    Let us check on this together and sort this out to assist your concern. However, before we proceed, we would like to ask few questions about it.

    1. Which game have you downloaded?
    2. Did you download the game from Windows Store or online?
    3. What exactly happens when you try to play the game?
    4. What is the current version and edition of Windows Installed?

    These above questions would help us provide the necessary information. Once we have gathered all the information, we will formulate the viable solution to help you with your case.

    For the meantime, let’s try these methods below and check if that helps. You can just skip those you have done already.

    Method 1: Set your monitor to its recommended resolution.

    To set monitor to its recommended resolution follow the steps given below:

    1. Swipe in from the right edge of the screen, tap Settings, and then tap Change PC settings.
      (If you're using a mouse, point to the lower-right corner of the screen, move the mouse pointer up, click Settings, and then click Change PC settings.)
    2. Tap or click PC and devices, then tap or click Display.
    3. Tap or click the resolution slider and drag it until you find the resolution marked (Recommended). This is your monitor's recommended resolution—usually the highest resolution your monitor can support.
    4. Tap or click Apply.

    Method 2: Install all the windows updates including optional updates. You can refer to the link below to install windows updates.



    Method 3: Update Display Driver Software from the Manufacturer’s website.

    Go to the computer manufacturer’s website and search for the latest Windows display drivers available for your computer and then install them by following the instructions given on the website.

    Method 4: Uninstall and reinstall the game and check.

    To uninstall and reinstall game follow the steps given below.

    1. Press Windows key + X key.
    2. Select Control Panel.
    3. In Control Panel, click on Programs.
    4. Then click on Programs and Features.
    5. Select the game and click Uninstall button.
    Once the game got uninstalled try to reinstall the game in compatibility mode and check. To install the game in compatibility mode follow the steps given below.

    1. Download the game from the manufacturer’s website and save it on your local disk.
    2. Right click on the setup file of the game and select “Properties”.
    3. Select “Compatibility” Tab.
    4. Place a check mark next to “Run this program in Compatibility mode” and select previous version of Windows from the drop down list.
    Let the game install and then check the functionality.

    If after performing all the troubleshooting steps above still the problem persists, try to check these 2 articles and follow suggested steps.



    Then try to run/launch Xbox apps through Microsoft Store apps.

    Cannot access the downloaded games in PC

    Ive tried all those and still have the same issue the greyed out installed games on my PC tried requesting a call back from support but all I ever get is "This is not possible at this time please try again later"

    Someone on another thread said about reinstalling windows 10 - something that drastic I would rather not do. So I am at a bit of a loose end when told to request a call back but cant.

    Can this be logged in manually ?

    Game pass ultimate for family members

    You cant gameshare between xbox and pc

    You can login and download playanywhere titles and then people on your pc can use the games but no they cannot access xgu from pc only the primary can

    XGU on xbox only allows the primary to download and install games from gamepass

    All users on the home console can use the gold and installed games
