    Cannot access multiplayer on Minecraft


    As the title says, I am unable to play online due to "how my Microsoft account is set up." Every box under the "Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and Windows 10 devices Online Safety" tab is set to 'Allow' and I still unable to access online friend worlds or Realms.

    That's odd, can you try reinstalling minecraft to see if that helps?

    **Don't forget to backup worlds in case you have more than 4GB of saved data

    I've uninstalled and reinstalled Minecraft, and the error is still appearing... I do not have Xbox Live at the moment, but I'm only trying to play LAN, which I thought you were still able to do without the subscription.

    "However, the online version is still readily available. Therefore, local multiplayer is still playable without an active Xbox Live subscription." - Game Voyager

    Plus, the error message says nothing about needing Xbox Live to join. Here's the full error message again:

    "You cannot play online multiplayer because of how your Microsoft Account is set up. Please ensure your online safety settings allow Multiplayer. See instructions for changing these settings at aka.ms/MCMultiplayerHelp."

    Incredibly confused....

    Sorry, this is Bedrock edition on my Xbox Series X. The birthyear is 1979 and I only see myself within the family group.

    I found something that could help.
    It seems that you can host a multiplayer without live gold. But you can't join to one.

    (it's a bit old, but I think helps to clarify)

    If possible try joining to live gold for 1 month or if your account is eligible for a trial. Get one.

    Multiplayer features are restricted without live gold for most of the paid games

    I have power cycled the Xbox and removed my account and added it back. It is still not allowing me to play online due to "how my account is setup." I have no issues when playing the same Bedrock edition on my PC. Very confused and annoyed right now.
