Cannot access GTA new gen

My apologies in advance for such a long post, but this is months of dealing with this issue.

Here's the deal... Upon the release of GTA Expanded and Enhanced in March 2022, I bought an Xbox series X and purchased the new GTA online. I'd been playing on Xbox one. I tried migrating over to new gen, and upon loading in the first time, I had the issue a lot of people had with migrating... but I got past it, and got the notification that my character migrated successfully, and all the millions of achievement pop ups, etc... however, I've still yet to actually be able to play the new version. Even tho I've successfully migrated, so it says, I go into the loading screen, and then my screen goes black, with background music. I have no control over anything. When I push the xbox button on my controller, nothing happens... the console menu should come up, but it doesnt. After a minute or two, the game app closes out on it's own, and only at that point do I have control over the console again.

I submitted a ticket with Rockstar games, and as per the usual, they suggested all kinds of things... clearing cache, network tests, etc... all which did nothing. I did everything they suggested, and even a few ideas of my own. They have reverted my character back to old gen 4 different times as to see if making a few changes and going thru the migration process again would help, but nothing has changed.

Originally I had only purchased online, bc I could care less about story mode, but they suggested I go thru story mode to create a new character to see if I'm able to access that way, with the idea being my character save data was corrupt... so I spent the $$ and purchased story mode simply to create a second character for that reason... only to find out the exact same issue exists... I cant even load into story mode.

Per R* suggestion... bc NOTHING else has worked, I caved to the frustration and allowed them to do a blank save, as they stated it had to do with corrupted save data with my character, which is why story mode was affected as well.

That didn't help. I STILL have the issue, and now I've lost my progress. At the current moment, I've deleted all games and apps, reset my console, and re-downloaded GTA. Still, the issue persists.

I have also signed into my console with a friends profile and launched GTA, still experiencing the same issues with both online and story mode. So the issue is NOT with my character or xbox live account.

GTA is the only game I have issues with, and only the new version. Thru all of this, lasting for months, I've had no problems playing other games or using apps, and playing the old version of GTA online on disk showed no issues.

Is it possible the game I purchased could contain corrupt data? Is this, perhaps, NOT an issue of Rockstar games, but an issue of having purchased a corrupt download? Could that explain why, when stuck in the black screen, I have no control of my console until the game app closes on it's own? I have tried everything possible, and nothing has changed.

Please help.

We could not really imagine how important it is for you to be able to rectify this issue at the soonest possible time. If you have contacted already Rockstar support, for us to check from our end we would also suggest you go back to Rockstar and submit another bug with them. Secondly, Report A Problem on our end through this link: Provide feedback to Team Xbox and submit a bug. Please make the title of the bug (Forums).GTA V Online will not boot into the game.

Submitting a bug through the Xbox App

1. Navigate to the top right of the application and select your gamerpic icon

2. Select “Feedback” in the drop-down menu

3. Select “Report a problem”

4. Click Give new feedback

5. Add [Xbox Forum] in “Summarize your feedback” followed by a feedback summary

a. Summary should be descriptive and fully detailing the error you are receiving. Links redirecting to this forum post will not be accepted and will cause a delay in your feedback submission.

6. Category should automatically be selected.

7. In the "add more details" category, you will have the option to "Recreate my problem". Recreating the problem will help us further pinpoint the error you are receiving.

8. Once complete, post the title of the bug report along with the submission date in this thread.

Hi Geri, thank you for your response. Here are answers to your questions as numbered below :

1- Yes, I originally purchased Next Gen online only, back in March. I just recently purchased story mode only a couple weeks ago.

2- Yes, when I did the first initial migration, I had been stuck at 90% for only a short while, then the process showed as successful, along with several achievement notifications. After being reverted back to old gen, each migration process thereafter has immediately shown as successfully migrated.

3- Yes, I have done this. I opened the game application on a friends account, and on the launch screen where it gives you the option to switch accounts by pressing Y, I switched to my desired account. This made no difference.

I should also note that I tried fully loading into the game with this friends profile, which has a successfully migrated character, yet the issue persists on my console with that account as well.

4- Yes, I have performed a complete console reset. More than once, each time deleting and re-installing GTA V Online.

5- I have done this, with the exception of Press the start button on the Xbox control and select quit to fully close the game, because as stated above, I lack the ability to make any pause menu selections since no pause menu appears, being I have no control over the game or console once the game loads in.

I have, however, launched the game and allowed it to stay on for 10 minutes, then press the xbox button as per doing so closes the game application. I have followed thru with that cycle 3 times in a row as to have opened and closed the game 3 times... with no change.
