Cannot access digital game on my account.

First of all I'd like to say contacting xbox support is useless.

I'm signed into my account (my only account) and cannot access Sea Of Thieves. The error says, "Sign in with the account that purchased the game or installed the app, or if the game has a trial version that has expired, purchase the game from the Microsoft
Store."

I'm signed into the account that purchased the game outright (no subscription). I havent played the game with the latest update. Other games purchased from the same account run fine.

Hi ,

Have you ever had GamePass or GamePass Ultimate? If so, you may want to try uninstalling the game and downloading again. There may just be a digital rights issue that could be resolved through installingagain.

However before you go through removing/reinstalling, try the following:

1. Remove your profile from the console

2. Power cycle/ reset your console

3. Add your profile and sign in.

Thank you for the quick reply. I did have GamePass in the past but did not purchase SOT at that time.

I followed your instructions and removed and re-added my profile, as well as power-cycled the console. No luck.

In the Microsoft Store, the game showed as installed. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling and to my horror when I went back to the Store it now showed that I had to purchase the game. Now I am out the cost of the game and I suspect my game saves will be
lost also which took considerable amounts of time.

Any advice on what I can do now?

Thank you for taking the time to reply to this thread. We understand that you experiencing difficulties with being able to launch a one of your games.

I would recommend first to verify that you game shows up in either the
My games section of the Xbox website, or your
Order history to verify that the game shows up here.

If your game does show up, you should be able to select it and it should redirect you to a page on the Microsoft Store, where you can install this game remotely onto your console.

Give this a try and let us know if this works for you!

I think you have to get gold either way to access you digital games that you bought. It happened to me before why i couldn't access it. So when i got gold again i could start playing my digital games. Ik it's weird but it works.
