Cancelling Game Pass while Game Sharing

There is a little more to the title but in short - I've been sharing with a family member for years and I've been the one paying for GP. They have now decided to take the lead and have started paying for GP (while I still have a subscription) and we're still sharing.

As I can't see the answer anywhere and I want to make sure before I do this but can I just cancel my GP subscription and as long as he is set to my home xbox and he's paying for GP, everything will be like nothing happened except that I'm no longer paying...?

You will have access to gold but not gamepass

That you have to download via his profile and then play in your profile

Nothing would happen on their end. You would no longer have access to Game Pass unless they set the console as their Home .

I'm already his home xbox, so I just have to check he's mine. SO if that's the case and all good, then if I cancel my GP subscription I'll still have access to it because he's got the subscription now on his console. Right?

While you can share Game Pass features on an Xbox console with other accounts, you cannot share Game Pass on the PC. Only the account that purchased Game Pass can use in on the PC.

Keep in mind that sharing outside of your home violates rules and can put you and your friend at risk for being banned.

If you cancel your Game Pass, your friend would still have Game Pass since they buy it on their account.
