Cancelling auto-renewal

I'm posting in here because this has been a recurring problem for 3 months now. I cancelled my recurring subscription back in June, and I made sure I turned off auto-renewal on my account under the Billing section. I'm certain I did this - no doubt at all.
Yet in July I get charged again so I go through the same process of cancelling my subscription. This time I double-checked to make sure it actually confirmed that it was OFF. Now very recently (26th August) I get charged AGAIN, and sure enough the auto-renewal
was turned on for some reason. I've now cancelled it for the THIRD time, and even went into my Paypal to cancel the transaction in there.

I'm highly infuriated with Microsoft about this and want my Paypal details removing from my account ASAP, not "when your current membership is over" because I expect auto-renewal will somehow "magically" be renewed without my consent. When I try to remove
my Paypal details I'm told to cancel my auto-renewal, which I did do...

I can't report this problem directly to Microsoft because, strangely, the support page refuses to load: http://i.imgur.com/46HCVzq.jpg

It gets that far and fails to load, the green loading circle disappears. I'll keep trying because I want this resolved.

This is beyond a joke and terrible customer service. I won't be using Live any longer after this.

Cancelling Auto Renewal

I am trying to cancel my auto renewal but get the following error: An error occured cancelling automatic renewal.

Is there another way to cancel the auto renewal?

Me too. Ironically 5 seconds after cancelling my auto renewal. Someone's playing hardball.

 

Since this is a billing issue, you will have to contact support by phone to contact billing and they can help you get it sorted. 1-800-4my-xbox if you're in the US/Canada or I can find the number if you're in a different region.

To cancel your membership at the end of the current term, turn off auto renewal by following these steps. With automatic renewal turned off, your membership will expire at the end of its term.

1. Sign in to the Xbox Live website by using your Microsoft account.
   
   Note Make sure that you sign in using the Microsoft account associated with the Xbox Live account that you want to manage. If you don’t know the Microsoft account email or password, see Find
   your Microsoft account.
2. Once you’ve signed in, click My Account.
   
3. Click Subscriptions.
   1. If you’re not on a trusted device, you’ll be prompted to choose an existing proof, either your email or a phone number, so we can send you a security code. The code is sent to either your email address or mobile phone.
      
   2. After you receive the security code, click Next.
   3. Enter the code that you received, and then click Submit.
4. Locate the subscription for which you want to change your auto renewing payment status.
   
5. Click Cancel automatic payment.
6. Click Continue.

^ That doesn't work there is no option to remove auto renewal.

 

Even the link the guy posted isn't working, hilarious. This is why I use those Live cards instead of a credit card to subscribe/buy points. I'm not surprised why they aren't making it easier to cancel auto-renewal. Most companies (not just Microsoft) profit
by doing it this way. It certainly isn't difficult to implement. Microsoft had easy auto-renewal cancellation during the early years of the Xbox360.

 

I HAVE TRYED THIS AND IT DOES NOT WORK! I AM VERY UPSET THIS IS WRONG, AND BAD BUISNESS! CANCEL THIS CRAP FOR ME TODAY!
