    Cancelling a Game Update


    This is a request that the warning message when cancelling an update be more detailed. Earlier tonight there was a 1.25GB update for Gears of War 4; however, it froze at 14% for close to 30 min. So I cancelled it with the thought of restarting it, but it
    uninstalled everything (game and updates) and with my current internet speed, it's going to take approximately 20hrs to reinstall. If it had warned that the game and all updates would be removed rather than somewhat unclear "items in question", I wouldn't
    have cancelled it.

    yes. right now i have a frozen update happened many times before and ive tried so many fixes but the only way i know how to fix it is uninstall

    Why do a have to install the entire game after I cancel an update ?

    Because the update overwrites the game data when you cancel it, you damage the game data and the game is automatically uninstalled when the update is canceled.

    do you cancel the update and try again as cancelling updates wipes the game and you then have download the entire game again.

    Is it possible that you canceled the update when you were in the middle of attempting to download the update during the Xbox Live service alert? If you cancelled the games update when it was attempting to download. It would actually uninstall the game
    from your system. Anytime you cancel an update that has started. The game/app in question will uninstall.

    yes. right now i have a frozen update happened many times before and ive tried so many fixes but the only way i know how to fix it is uninstall
