Cancelled preorder still shows as "owned"?

2-3 months ago, I cancelled a preorder for Battlefield 1 but it seems is if the license is still intact as I can't re-purchase the game because it still shows that I "own" it. Is this normal? Anyone else have this issue? Any help would be appreciated.

Just so people know, to correct the OP when he says cancel all your preorders, preordering from Dell is still cheaper.

Exactly the same issue here with fifa 17 pre order. Still says i own it even though i cancelled it 2 months ago. Hope i dont have any issues redeeming my fifa 17 code that comes with the xbox ons S bundle i have purchased.

I asked support they said it was upto a "computer" when the license is removed... could be a week, a month, years even they said.

Yes. Same for me. We downloaded the preorder and waited for the launch. It’s only now, at the launch, do I get any indication that the order was cancelled! My boy had his heart set on the preorder goodies. Yesterday morning it was still showing up in “My games and Apps” but now it is gone.

Hopefully your friend is the one personally signing into their own account on your xbox because signing into an account you dont own is against the rules. Also if your friend gave you his account details to sign into his account then that also puts him/her at risk for a ban as well.

That being said your friend will need to check their order history to see if the order shows as "completed" or if it shows "cancelled/declined" as a number of people have been having their preorders cancelled due to their payment method declining the purchase.
