Cancelled game download still taking up space on storage (Xbox Beta) PC

Not sure if it's been asked before but finding information for this really isn't a fun experience.

I noticed that a large amount of space is being used by XBOX Beta despite having cancelled downloads or "uninstalled" games. It would appear there is no straight forward way of clearing out this much needed storage.

Unlike Steam and other services, it appears this is all under lock and key.

The game in question is a current XBOX game pass game. I just want the files removed to free up storage. Any help would be appreciated.

Microsoft, you really need to fix this as it's a problem that really shouldn't be nearly as awkward as it is.

Try to hard reset your xbox or search up youtube video to try find problem

Game Pass games don't seem to show up under programmes and features so you can't uninstall through there.

Here are two possible fixes to get your lost storage back

Reset store cache

1. Press Windows logo key + X and click Run.

2. Type WSReset.exe in the empty space and hit ENTER.

3. Reboot your PC.

If your lost storage has not returned, try the next possible fix.

Try running the Windows Store Apps troubleshooter.

The troubleshooter can be accessed by pressing Windows key + I to open
Settings. Go to Update & Security > Troubleshoot. Find
Windows Store Apps on the list, click it, and click Run the troubleshooter.

Is the game still showing up in Programs and Features in the Control Panel? You can also right click Xbox beta and select, more, the app settings and then select reset or repair app.

another way of sorting it is clearing system files with cleanup, right click c: then click properties and the click disk cleanup, then click system cleanup system files, tick all then run it, may take a moment, i find after installing and also removing gamepass
games it leaves a ton of stuff sat in delivery optimisation.

does not matter if your games are installed on another drive running the from C: will get those also.
