Cancelled download from store still using my hard disk space

Hi,

I was downloading a game, total file size was 62.7 gig and it reached 62.7 gig downloaded, but the progress bar remained at 77%.

It froze there even after a couple of restarts, so eventually I cancelled it.

Annoyingly though, that 62.7 gig capacity is being taken up on my HDD and I can't seem to track down a method to delete it/free it up again.

Any hints?

Hi Kelzedar,

sorry to hear. Maybe it is only in the store cache so pleae reset the store like this:

Go to Settings> System> Apps
& features> Click Store>
Advanced options> Reset.

You may also run the
troubleshooter for Windows apps before performing a reset. It will help you resolve any apps problems in Windows Store.

If this do not help try
"Repair/Remove programs"!

Hi,

While downloading Metro Exodus I cancelled the download after some 10min. My disk space was around 120-130GB and once I started the download it went down to 55-60GB (I'm just writing estimates).

After cancelling the download the disk space remains 55-60GB. I've tried disk cleanup, cleaned delivery optimization files, and nothing.

What can I do to fix this?

Probably is glitch on the xbox sistem, wait a couple of hours and it should be solved.

Download patch or disk either way it still would have to been stored on the hard drive.

@EyEdEaLz, so if I borrow a friend's game and download it to my hard drive and then use my own disk to play, this will no longer be a problem? Or will I still need an undamaged disk? If I tried to download my own disk to hard drive will it make it soundless?
I would assume so, huh?

if you have plenty of space in your hard drive then it could be a faulty disk if you only bought it a few days ago you should be able to take it back to the store and the store should replace the disk
