Canceling downloads deletes the whole game!

I've lost over 10 games because of this absolute anarchy.

If I start downloading an update but want to cancel (so it won't start during an online game), instead of, like the Xbox 360, stopping your update and making you play offline, it deletes your whole game, no matter how big the update.

WHY!? WHY WOULD THIS HAPPEN?

I run off at hotspot so I don't have the bandwidth to download games, let alone updates more than 500mb.

So is this a way of Microsoft saying "bad internet? bad luck" or is there something I can do to stop a whole game being downloaded over a tiny update?

Game deleted itself

canceling an update will delete the full game.

That's just how it works.

can't delete individual maps i have 9 downloads but none of them say what is in them should i delete whole game and re=download and if i do will i loose all equipment upgrades in game

Unfortunately right now if you cancel downloads mid update it will uninstall the game due to the game data might getting corrupted. What you can temporarily do to avoid this is to copy the game while its updating to another hard drive.
