Discus and support Canceling an update of a game will accidentally uninstall it! in XBoX on Consoles to solve the problem; If you cancel an update... and clear the update queue... that will auto delete the entire game without warning...     If you cancel an update... and clear the update queue... that will auto delete the entire game without warning...

    Not okay.

    This is an extreme bug.

    Please separate these things.

    Canceling Updates!

    I can confirm what OP says is correct. Canceling and update does uninstall the game. From what I have read it is because most updates change basic code of the game and canceling this could corrupt the game. So Pausing would be better.

    Your game should not uninstall because you canceled an update. Canceling an update simply stops the update installation process. It does not delete anything whatsoever.

    Also..... there is no game error.... no network error... no software issues..... no hardware issues...

    There is no troubleshooting that can be done...

    This is actual programming of the xbox one console that developers need to change and send an update to us.

    Cancelling a Update Uninstalls the entire game.

    I agree that this can be annoying, sometimes I accidentally start a game update and I'll have to wait for it to complete because if I cancel, it uninstall the whole game, which is a bummer.

    Okay, that could very well be what happened. Recall accidentally touching the update button for that game, so then cancelled it. Was unaware that the game might uninstall itself. It is a relief to know what happened to it. The hard drive should be fine.
    Nothing else disappeared and everything seems to operate normally. Thank you for your resolution. Appreciate it.

    it's possible that they are uninstalling because an update for the game(s) cancelled as that will uninstall the game.

    Lol good one. I must say my post didn't request any help. Only people who have experienced this can reply. I own 30+ consoles, from the NES to the Atari jaguar...nobody knows about consoles here more than me..this is a big issue no other modern console has.
