Canceled Xbox Store Pre-Order Refunded to Microsoft Account?

Hello all,

I purchased Fallout 4 from the Xbox Games Store on 10/30/2015. I canceled this digital pre-order on the same day, having reservations about the game. While the cancellation was no problem at all, the purchase was refunded in the form of Microsoft Wallet
Currency instead of the debit card I purchased the game with originally. Is this a normal procedure? Or will the money be refunded to my bank? I also noticed that Fallout 4 is still in my list of games to install (not going to touch it though).

I'm not worried about pre-ordering games on the Xbox Store now that Microsoft has a means of getting a refund.

How do you cancel digital game pre-orders?

They aren't saying to buy physical. They are saying why pre-order digital where there is the added risk of not being able to get a refund, because there is no refund policy in place? When you pre-order physical, you don't carry those risks because you can cancel the pre-order before or after the game launches.

Phone support will give you the option of getting the money back to the payment method you used or having it sent to your currency wallet. Having it returned to your credit card could take a couple of weeks where currency is immediate.

If you were not informed of this you should contact phone support for further assistance. They may be able to move the currency back to your card.

Thanks. Just went to the order history. It's there but there isn't a link to cancel the order. The game downloadeed to my Xbox one but it doesn't start up. It just goes to the Microsoft store when I try to open. since it seems the game is on indefinite hold
on Xbox, refunds should be offered. Not everyone is playing on PS4 or PC. And not everybody is getting a new gen xbox when it coes out.

If you already were charged for the game pre-order , you can cancel the pre-order using the steps provided in this article:

Or you can try filling the refund form below:

In case your refund gets denied, you can actually file an appeal for the results of the refund.

All you need to do is to reply to the email that was sent to you by the refund team, you can reply with a detailed explanation so they can review your request again and grant you a possible exception.
