Cancel XBox live acct

Ive called numerous times to cancel deceased family members Xbox live gold Acct (charging my credit card every 3 mos $24.99) and have been told that without access to their email to validate the Acct they can not cancel and stop the charge to my
credit card. No exception. How unethical is this? Microsoft needs a policy for this. I was told that I have to keep disputing the charge with credit card or get a lawyer. The Corp Office has this same policy as well. My CC said they can keep dispute crediting
the charges, but the only way to resolve would be to change the credit card #.

They can't give you info for the account the card is on but they should be able to take the card off.

The 3 reps I spoke with advised that the strict Microsoft policy states that they are not permitted to take or look up my credit card due to security purposes.

you should be able to get your card provider to cancel the payments at their end without cancelling the card or accessing the MS/Xbox account.

Yes, as i initially explained, the CC co was able to dispute/credit the chgs, but i will have to call back every 3 months to dispute new chgs.

Thank you for your post. I understand you are experiencing an issue with cancelling a subscription to an account you do not have access to. Please use the
Contact Us portal to speak to an agent and detail to them that your credit card is being billed without your authorization by an account that you have no access to. Support
should have the ability to remove your credit card from the billing system.

If you're unable to sign into the account and remove the card your only option is to cancel the credit card and have a new one issued. Due to privacy laws nothing else can be done unfortunately.

Thanks, but Im not able to access the Xbox console. I feel that there should be an exception process for the card owner to provide the card # to cancel the future charges. It is incredibly inconvenient to get a new card with all of the auto pay details
with many other companies.
