    Cancel unintentional purchase


    Hello,

    My young son was playing on the xbox and unintentionally purchased a 'weapon' in a game. He came to me and told me, and has not 'used' the item in the game; the box is now turned off. I want to cancel this unintended purchase under the UK distance selling
    regulations. Please let me know how to go about reversing the purchase and getting the 'weapon' removed from the game. There is no obvious information in the support pages on how to do this. I would far prefer to have this resolved at source rather than
    having to contact my credit card provider (although I will do so if that is the only option).

    So my brother and I saw a game with gold for this month on backwards compatibility. Supreme Commander 2 we tried to download it thinking it was free and ended up with a 30 dollar charge that we weren't supposed to charge to my mothers account. I didn't realize
    that the GWG on 360 only lasted for 15 days per game I assumed it was similar to the Xbox one where both games are available for the entire month. If there is anything I do please tell me! can't afford to through money at games right now. I didn't let it download
    past 1%.

    For future reference, if the confirmation page does not say "Free" then you *will* be charged for the purchase. It's worth keeping in mind; don't assume it will be free if that's not what it says.

    If you speak with Support (link provided by Theory above), they may be able to help you out.

    Cancel unintentional purchase

    You would need to contact support directly, although everything in the marketplace does state that there are no refunds so there is no guarantee they will get you one.

    That link is what brought me here -- it seems to imply that the correct way to contact support is via this forum. My apologies if that is incorrect.

    Billing issue can only be taken care of through phone support. These should be the direct numbers for them in your region - 020 7365 9792 or 0800 587 1102

    Quick update -- Microsoft Support were very good on the phone, they've removed the purchase and refunded the money. It seems that the reason he was able to purchase it was because the xbox account was marked as "adult" instead of "child" because it was
    in my name even though it was for my son, and the account had the credit card stored from when we purchased the live service. They've now removed the credit card to make sure it doesn't happen again.
