Canadian trying to pay with credit card

Discus and support Canadian trying to pay with credit card in XBoX on Consoles to solve the problem; I'm looking to sign up for xbox live gold but the site only allows the choice of states despite it saying province/state.     Canadian trying to pay with credit card


    I'm looking to sign up for xbox live gold but the site only allows the choice of states despite it saying province/state. I must be doing something wrong no way I'm the only Canadian to ever try to pay with a credit card, please point me in the right direction.

    Need help renewing my Xbox Live Gold Subscription

    My Xbox Live subscription expires today and I went out to buy a $100 gift card (Canadian). I redeemed the card into my account so that I can have the money to renew my Gold and pick up some new games but now that I am trying to renew my subscription, it
    is not allowing me to pay from my account. Any suggestions on what to do? I don’t have the money to pay with a credit/debit card or from Paypal.

    PUR amount limit exceeded

    Double check limits on your credit card or whatever else you're trying to pay with.

    Maybe Xbox Live thinks you live in America.Check your MS account and make sure the correct region is set.Also check it on this site.

    Same as Frothy. I've looked at the older threads with no success (region at bottom left is now Canada, XBox One thinks I'm in Canada, Microsoft account thinks I'm in Canada, ...) but the system still only provides States in the billing info where I need
    to match to provinces for the credit card. Been at this for a few hours now. I've never had some much trouble giving anybody money.

    My mind is blown. It works now. I had been able to enter my credit card in the microsoft account, but xbox live wouldn't pick it up and entering it fresh there didn't work because of the province/state thing. In frustration I took the 1 month free (why
    not before? well, I didn't want to get nailed on monthly renewals rather than the 1 year discount). All of a sudden, it imports my credit card from microsoft and allows me to pay for the 1 year renewal. Go figure.

    Is the billing address for the card you are trying to use a US address or is it a Canadian address?

    You are talking about like a credit/debit card correct when you say card?
