Figured it out. Lmao, the avatar customizations will be endless now with anyone who has patience to modify artwork.

 

No, you can't. XBL is very restrictive when it comes to gamerpics - this is probably because they want to keep the service family-friendly.

At the moment you CAN NOT use custom gamerpics unless you are in the alpha ring of the insider program.

YOU WILL BE SUSPENDED if you are caught with a custom gamerpic at the moment.

 

There was an update recently that hinted we could upload our own pictures, so I'm just now searching for how to do it, and found this thread. Don't blame people for seeing what I saw.

 

The only thing that has been released was a statement saying custom gamerpics are coming in the future & will be available to some members of the insider program for testing now.

Nothing has been released "hinting" that you could do it now.Besides,my post wasn't directed at you.

At least you bothered to read previous posts before posting yourself.

 

Looking at when this thread was created, it's kinda sad it took this long for this feature.

 

How do you know if you are in it? I am an Insider but dont see anything about it.

 

The Xbox app beta feature allowing for custom gamerpics just came to my attention yesterday...

 

Open the Insider app & it will tell you what ring you are in.

As GG said,just download the beta xbox app if you have a windows 10 pc & you can use custom pics from there now.

 

Unfortunately this is becoming a bit of a trend. People just can't wait and are now customising their gamer pictures before the feature has gone live. Players have even gone as far as setting up clubs that explain how to MOD your gamer picture right now.

So with that in mind here's some friendly advice and a little heads up.

As has already been said by, Daft Badger unless you are part of the Xbox app beta or a member of the Xbox insiders program (Alpha ring), using a customised gamer picture is against T&C's and if caught will get your account suspended.

I for one think this is a bad idea. I'm hoping Microsoft have some form of filter in place to stop people uploading explicit material otherwise I can see this getting abused very quickly.

 

If the custom gamerpic feature is in preview/BETA stages at the moment, it should come out to the general public soon and be legal to use, right? It's been over 10 years and thousands of questions regarding the feature, a little more patience is something
I can do, if this is becoming a thing for real.

 

Yes they are they allowed it on the 360 with their little microsoft camera why not allow it on xbox one. Its seems like microsoft is going backwards with technology

 

Do people wake up out of a ditch and make a post? Do they not have access to the internet and information? For at least 2 weeks anyone with the Xbox Beta App on Windows 10 has been allowed to customize their gamerpic. You don't have to be an insider.
