Can you upload your own gamer pics?

As someone who was here 3 years ago when this thread originated, I have to say the reply / view ratio tells me it's a very successful thread compared to the threads in this forum now. Pretty much everyone who viewed it made a comment. These days
that's rare, but then there are probally less than 10 regular posters here now so it's understandable.

I always crack up when someone gets on a poster for reviving an outdated thread. (although when I do it it's not sarcastic at all because I'm never sarcastic)

If the forum was concerned with that they'd have some kind of locked thread archive and would remove the forum "search" feature. IMO.

The good news is, no one here making threads today will have their's brought back to life 3 years from now because... simply put, they're not that interesting. I think the majority of todays threads get way more views than comments because as some
have put it... "NO ONE CARES!", but then if people posting here these days are concerned with "views", they may want to move to another forum.

I actually am kinda glad to see an interesting post revived. It reminds me this place use to actually be alive.

Decide whose community creations you want to see.

Blocking this may affect whether you can upload your own creations in some games.

 

Gamer profile pic

You can only use gamerpics downloaded from the marketplace or taken with the Xbox Live Vision Camera. You can't upload your own pics.

 

I forgot to add that custom gamerpics are coming soon. I made a thread a while back but... NO ONE CARED! lol

 

Speaking of views, that's another way of looking at a DEAD thread, but the definition of a "lively" thread very much depends on whether or not the people who originally replied - be it nine or 59 - have a mind to check back after others have updated it (thereby
increasing the views ratio). Which kinda means, that empirically speaking, the thread couldn't have been that "successful" if each respondent only bothered to check in ONCE (therefore resulting in a pregnant pause until the thread was revived).

Also, please ditch the smileskybird textbook and get a clue when using the term "used to". Lively threads are kept alive by conscientious people.

I agree that they should let us submit our own (as long as it follows rules and guidelines like other social media does). As a youtube content creator and streamer, it's unfair to make millions of people choose from a couple hundred images.

The person might be part of the preview program and has early access to upload their own picture.

 

they made an update on the Xbox app to where you can take a picture off your phone to the Xbox app and use on you Xbox console

 

Only people in the Insider programme Alpha ring can use custom gamerpics at the moment.

Anyone else who tries it risks some kind of enforcement action.

 

I seriously doubt that. I mean take a look at this forum site operated by Microsoft. There's hardly much enforcing going on around here! From what I've read on here tonight, people are reporting each other for the fun of it, and totally nothing is being
done about it.

I'd like this feature. I mean we can do it for other social media.

 

Xbox live enforcement is nothing to do with xbox.com enforcement.

This place is meant to be moderated by some volunteers.

Xbox live has it's own separate set of rules & at the moment using custom gamerpics is a violation of those rules & will end up in a suspension if you are caught.

Only people in the Alpha ring of the Insider program can use custom gamerpics at the moment legitimately.
