Can you update xbox one games without putting the disc in ?

Is there away to update all your games , with having to put the game in and to wait for the update . Each time you put a game in you haven't played in a while , because it's very annoying wanting to play a game you haven't played in a while then having
to wait 30mins to and hour for 1g update . If anyone can help it is much appreciate

Xbox will not finish update on any games

Games purchased digitally will automatically download and install the updates.

But games you purchased retail (i.e. disc-based) will require you putting the disc in the drive in order to finish the installation of the update.

PS4 updates both digital and disc media games regardless. I wish Xbox One would do this.

I find it utterly annoying to have to feed disc after disc into the X1 just to finish the installation of the update.

no, because there is no point updating a game you don't have a license for, putting the disk proves the license.

 

There should be a option tho , sick of putting a game in and having to wait an hour until I can play it

 

but why would a developer want to have people who haven't uninstalled their games updating even if they don't have the disk anymore?

If you want convenience buy the digital downloads.

 

You can at least see which games have updates available from the apps screen. If you check it regularly you can keep your games up to date while doing other things (like watching TV).

I would hope in future MS adds the ability to download updates overnight so that game updates can be applied when ready to play. Probably worth asking for changes to the update process in a Feedback Forum thread.

 

If you have bought the games and they are installed on your hard drive they should automatically should start updating while your console is on I'm sure Microsoft said there's no more waiting for your games to update when they was bringing out the console

I don't let my phone or P.C. automatically update, so I would be tweaked if my X Box started doing it. I have no problem with them adding the ability for automatic updates, just give me the option to turn them off.
