Can you turn off the ability to receive messages?

    Can you turn off the ability to receive messages?


    I know you can block INDIVIDUAL people, but thats a hassle,, and I know in settings you can block everyone from everything, but can you JUST block strangers from messaging you, but still allowing voice chat for games?

    Add ability to turn off entire system or just the xbox one itself

    You do have the ability to turn off everything or just the xbox itself. Go to setting and then go to t.v & one guide power settings and then there you will see an option to "turn on your devices" "xbox turn off turns off audio receiver" "xbox turn off turns
    off cable or satellite box" "xbox turn off turns off your t.v" You can individually check off one or all of these boxes. This feature has been available since launch.

    Why are peopled SO bothered by men playing as fem spartans????

    You can turn off the ability to receive friend requests... if you feel the need. I think male spartans look like deformed inflatable water rafts, so I usually play as a female spartan.

    Can you turn off the ability to receive messages?

    Go to Settings > Account > Privacy & Online Safety > Xbox Live Privacy.

    From there, you can customize privacy settings and control who is able to speak to you. You can, for example, allow only friends to communicate with you. This is reached (from the Xbox Live Privacy menu) by selecting:
    View details & customize > Communication & multiplayer > Others can communicate(...)

    No.You can set comms to friends only but that will disable voice & party chat as well as messaging for anyone who isn't on your friends list.

    you do realize that you can go to your settings, then power, and turn off the ability to turn the console on with kinect
