You can only transfer your world from Minecraft 360 Edition to Minecraft One Edition to (new) Minecraft.

Which Minecraft version do you use? For example, Minecraft 360 Edition in (new) Minecraft is not possible.

This is not true. You have to have owned Minecraft360 to get the discount. It may sound like I am being pedantic, but hear me out. We bought a digital copy of MC360 for my son. He installed it to his account. The family played the heck out of it.

Now, his account is the only one that can download it with the discount. The problem is that the store will not sell minecraft to a child or teen account. So in order to play, we have to pay full price.

The worst side affect of this is that all of our DLC is also tied to his account. So, it is doubtful that we will have access to any of that as well.

Also, if you have not seen the video, you have to have a 360, and access to your current worlds to transfer them. Transfers must be initiated from the 360 and finalized on the one. Even current cloud saved worlds must be transferred this way. You can only
transfer one at a time. So:

1) Initiate transfer from 360.....

2) wait for upload to finish.......

3) Initiate download on One.....

4) wait for download to finish...

Repeat for each world.

On the 360, you'll need to choose the world you want to transfer and there should be an option to upload it as a 360 save. Then on the One there is an option to download or import (I can't remember what it says) a 360 save and you can download it from there.
You can only transfer 1 world at a time.

You can make a copy of the world on your hard drive by going into the system settings and from there going into the minecraft area of storage where the save files are. You can copy the save file to make a duplicate and then with the duplicate transfer it
using a Memory Card or a HDD link cable from your Hard Drive to your friends, alternatively use the cloud storage and transfer it that way.

TL;DR - Go to settings, find minecraft, duplicate world, transfer.

Minecraft doesn't store the worlds "in the cloud" so that multiple devices can access one world.

If you have a world stored on your iPad, the Switch will NOT automatically have the world, even if you use the same Microsoft Account.

Your son can either "visit" the world on the iPad with the Switch, while the iPad is running Minecraft at that time through Multiplayer.

If you really want to have the world shared across both devices, your only option is to "rent" a realm that you have to pay for in monthly subscription fees.

Or if your son is okay with transferring the world from one device (e.g. iPad to the Switch and only play on the Switch from then on), you could use a free trial for Realms to transfer the world over.

To do that, your son activates a Realm subscription with a free trial on iOS, and uploads the desired world to the Realm service.

Then he connects the Switch to the same Realm, and downloads the world to his Switch.

Then you cancel the Realm subscription via
