The rewards program has no effect on Live so it'll work the same as it does now.

reward Xbox LIVE members who signed up for the Rewards Program free Microsoft Points for taking specific actions listed here (rewards.xbox.com/terms-and-conditions). We can only award
current Rewards members for those actions taken during their enrollment, and there are several opporunities and new offers as provided in the URL. It looks like you are not a current Rewards member, so we'd love to invite you to join the Program here (http://rewards.xbox.com).
