yo can you please change my child account to a parent account I'm just trying to change my gamer pic but I can't upload a custom image because the child account thing won't let me saying I need to be older please help me.

Cortana not working on Xbox account

For parents of children that turn 18, they can promote a child account by using
support.xbox.com/en-US/xbox-360/security/promote-child-account

If you are the child on the account, you will need your parent(s) to promote your account.

Parent account troubles (URGENT! PLEASE ANSWER WITHIN 7 DAYS IF POSSIBLE)

In order to chnage settings on th child account you MUST be logged into the parent account. When the child account is 18 years old you can then promote it to an adult account using the instructions posted here:

support.xbox.com/.../promote-child-account

Otherwise if the account is not able to be promoted yet then unless you can get into the parent account you wont be able to change the child account settings until its eligible to be promoted to an adult.

No one can do that.

Once the date of birth is entered when you create your account then that's it.It can not be changed.

You will have to wait until you are 18 years old

I am sorry but no. You need to wait for your Microsoft Account to reach 18 years old to consider it an adult.

Hi The Same here please - I was 18 in July and Ive got myself a new Xbox and I cant seem to do a simple thing like change my picture but i can Buy games etc on the store...

You can remove a child by either promoting it (over 17) from the child account's Account Management, or by removing the parent/child relationship entirely from the parent account.

On the console, you should be able to Promote the account to adult status, regardless of parental account.

You will want to contact Xbox LIVE Support at 1-800-4-MY-XBOX. They will have to escalate your parent's account to a higher level of support in order to restore your parent's account and all associated child accounts. It does take a while for this process
to be completed and it isn't always a 100% guarantee that they can restore the account. But, FYI, the proper way to remove yourself from a parent account would be to "promote" yourself to an adult account if you are 18 years of age or older. If customer
support is able to restore your parent's Microsoft account, you can follow the "promotion" steps here: support.xbox.com/.../promote-child-account
