Hi there. You will be pleased to know that you can already use a standard USB keyboard on the Xbox One. I am however unsure as to whether you can use a wireless keyboard. An alternative would be to use Xbox smartglass to type messages to friends. You can
download that application on most Windows, android and IOS devices in the store.

Are you able to navigate on your main dashboard using the keyboard though? Does it function when not on the game? Because if not, then there must be a problem with the keyboard itself. Try using a different keyboard as well to isolate the problem.

They should have given people an option to keep it the old way. It takes too long to navigate to some things now, which is going to be a huge turnoff to a lot of people.

You can already can use a keyboard to navigate the dashboard. The mouse however, you cannot.
