Hey, Microsoft. I would like to ask you guys to PLEASE put Iran into your country list. Like I said, I'm not Iranian. I'm an immigrant. Anyway, when I connected my Xbox One to the internet, it never let me sign in, even on a new account. I looked up the
problem, and it turned out to be blocked. Please, I just want to play Xbox. I swear to God I'm not Iranian, I just want to play Xbox.

hi. iam from iran also, and i still cant login to xbox live. it happened from 7 september, i just guess you have banned iranian ips. i am just watching the situation in upcoming days and if microsoft dont respect iranian people i will switch to playstation
in this generation and also next gen in 2020.

some countries are not supported, they may be in the future but I don't know how long it will take.

Hi,

Iran is under sanctions and a United States embargo. It's possible that IP addresses based in Iran are being blocked by Microsoft on request of the U.S State Department.

It doesn't matter if you're not an Iranian citizen, it's the state of Iran that is blocked, not you.

Unless U.S sanctions and the embargo ends, I can't see things changing anytime soon. Indeed sanctions will be back in full force in November this year.

Short Answer: Sanctions are a set of penalties imposed by one country on another country, or set of countries. In the case of Iran, they are economic sanctions. Economic sanctions prevent the sale of goods and services to the country such sanctions are
imposed upon. An embargo, is a more extreme form of sanctions.

It is important to note that sanctions can also be imposed on other entities such as companies and individuals or even non profit organisations.

The U.S embargo on Iran basically prevents any U.S company or financial institution from doing business with either the Iranian state, Iranian companies or individuals. There no chance Microsoft
will start operating in Iran any time soon.
