can you play xbox one without kinect

I don't think because someone doesn't want to use the Kinect they are a troll.

Prior to the first update my dog could dashboard me by getting between me and the Kinect (looking for her gamertag? who knows). I've lost count of the number of times I've been on the phone or mic'd up and have apparently given a command that has caused
an undesired result. I've had the "help" menu pop up dozens of times without intending to do so.

I've recalibrated it dozens of times. Acoustics in my house causing it? I mumble? Again who knows.

When I can get a remote and not have to power up the controller to do everything mine will be disabled until I have a reason to re-enable it.

 

Hasn't the OP been posting here for a few months. I'm curious as to why/how he had not idea you could use the Xbox One without the Kinect?

While no one has mentioned it, I figured it's worth a shout -- ALWAYS be weary of buying used electronics, especially Xbox's from eBay.

 

ye thats strange them being on ebay but what are they doing with the power brick and cables etc, one said his gf bought him another full system while his was getting replaced, what did they do with the rest of the stuff that came with it

 

but it sold for£175 brand new console so another say £100 the power brick etc, still a good deal

 

I make a living on eBay. That is my career just about.... more than 75% of the electronic sales are either fake, scams or drop ships sellers. Look at that kid from the UK... his father bought him a PICTURE of an XB1 off of eBay around Xmas for £450

The OP may be a troll but not everyone that would buy a One and go Kinectless is.......these forums tend to be brutal to anyone that isn't fond of any One related feature.

I agree - OP is probably a troll but I'll give him the benefit of the doubt....

a) The listing IS a fake....how does anyone get hold of a X1 without Kinect to sell one? And how on earth are they able to sell it that cheap (a replacement power brick is only £25). It's probably listed by a Sony Fanboy as a "joke" (implying X1 is only
worth £175 without a Kinect) - jealous and bitter fan boys!

b) Yes you can play X1 without Kinect - but even if you don't like Kinect features now I bet you want to use it at some point in the future as MS add more functionality supporting Kinect. The guys who aren't using theirs at least have the option to plug
it in future - you wouldn't have that option (and you may not be able to get one without a console).

 

no they are legit with great feedback, it was a replacement console from microsoft i just dont understand where the rest of the accessories are, what are they doing with them but they are legit

 

if they don't WANT to use it, guess what...they dont HAVE to...this is why MS gave us the OPTION. To all the real trolls trolling kinect threads I say to you if you don't answer the OP's question just keep your comment to yourselves..he asked if it works
without it, not for you to interrogate him as to why. Don't be such a bore...if you're enjoying your kinect so much why do you spend more time on here looking for these kinds of threads? LOL..to the OP...yes it works just FINE without it, i'd say even better
since you get ust to using the controller to navigate which is a heck of alot faster since the kinect has to listen and then take action. My controller i just press a button and it takes action and yes the button press is still faster then making sure the
kinect understands you in MOST cases. Sorry to burst your kinect bubble but its a needless gimmick and i havent needed or used mine in 4 months and i've been fine. Good day

You have to be pretty stupid to think it is a legit auction....MS always ask for the original console when they send a replacement console. And even if by some miracle the guy got to keep his original console then why was there a replacement - because it's
faulty? In which case they're selling a FAULTY console for £175. On you head be it if you buy it - but yes you can use it without the Kinect.

My Kinect passed away Feb/24/14 while I was at work....

I have had an open void on my shelving unit ever since. I got an email from MS support on Monday, saying that due to technical difficulties my order for my new Kinect will not be shipped until this Friday.

I sat at the tv last night saying "Xbox, volume up!"... no response. LOL... never thought I would miss it.
