Can you play Xbox GamePass games offline?

Why can't I play my GamePass games when my XboxOne is offline? I used to be able to but now all I get is the error code 0x80072ee7 saying I have to be online to play. What changed? And why can't Xbox just give us a call in line? The link above does NOT
have any options for speaking to anyone.

How long has it been since you connected to Live to verify the game is still active on the service and you still have an active subscription?

I'm going to answer this question . NO! gamepass games cannot be played offline . Otherwise ppl would buy gamepass download 200 + games go offline n never buy gamepass again . This is copyright and licensing issue that will stay as is . The answer is

Thanks for your help. A few hours ago. I don't have good Internet connection; it sometimes blinks out. I know about the need for the subscription to verify every 30 days. This isn't that.

No. That is not a link to speak with a support specialist. None of the options given result in the option to speak either in person or online. I am not sure if you think I didn't try that option first? If there is a clear path to speaking with someone
who can answer my question, I would appreciate knowing that. I'm not betting in it though because it looks like the goal is to frustrate the end user into giving up on asking for help.
