Can you play together in same household with one gold membership?

I have one xboxone and one xbox360, on xboxone i pay for one gold membership, however, my friends account is also gold because of this.

Would their account still be gold one the xbox360 and allow us to play games online that require gold if we were to get one xbox360 copy and one xboxone copy of the game?

Xbox Live sharing advice

I'd like some advice please. I own a xbox one with a gold live account. I'm looking to purchase a second xbox for my son this Christmas, so that we can play online games together.

1) Can we use the same games on both consoles (without breaking copyright laws)

2) Is it possible to have one gold account for use on both consoles & if so how?

FYI both consoles will reside in the same household.

Multiple consoles one game download

Hi, I know you cant play on one profile at the same time on two consoles but I was wondering if you downloaded a game on one console and download your profile to a second in the same household will you have to pay for the game again to download it to console
two in the same household without transferring the license?

I ask because my son had just got a new 360 for his room and we would like to download Garden ware-fare to play a multiplayer game together. Me of course playing on the first console in the living room with my Gold account and he on his in his bedroom with
his Gold account.

Your Xbox Live Gold account can be used on both Xbox 360 and Xbox One. However I don't think there are any multiplayer games will not allow one player using an Xbox 360 game whilst the other player is using an Xbox One version of the game.

Right there with you buddy. They can't honestly expect me to buy multiple Gold memberships for one household either. Especially, when they did away with the Family Gold plan in exchange for the Gold sharing. I mean, I already have
$2000 worth of xboxes in my house. (still have both of my old 360s and my original xboxes along with 2 Xb ones) I have 2 kids and we all like to play games together, I would LOVE to buy an X and have all 3 of us playing together at the same time. But there's
NO WAY I will be buying another gold subscription and 2 copies of EVERY game we already have and will buy, not to mention the DLC's.. We all live under the same roof for heavens sake.

No, Xbox does not allow you to game share with people outside your household. Game sharing is a feature that allows family members or friends living in the same household to share games and Xbox Live Gold memberships on one console. Sharing your games or memberships with people outside your household violates the terms of use and could result in account suspension or other penalties.

Your gold membership is tied to your xbox live account. Therefore when you sign in, as the xbox live account holder on either system (any XBOX system actually) your gold membership carries over. However, you cannot be signed into two systems at the same
time. If I had both my xbox 360 and my Xbox one on the same time, and tried to sign in on one while signed in on the other, it would sign me off on the other system.

If you have multiple people wanting to play in the same household, they need their own xbox live account and their own membership.
