    You can check on the backward compatibility website here https://bit.ly/3bRCGkm, if it's not listed, then no you cannot play the game on the Series X|S. If it is listed, then yes you will be able to.

    Do any of your other games work? If your answer is yes, then try downloading updates from Live or try the game in another machine. If your answer is no, then you should consider either swopping out the dvd drive on your xbox or buying a new console.
