Can you play (install?) Minecraft for Windows 10 on Xbox One?

We got an Xbox One for Christmas. Purchased Minecraft for Windows 10 (in about 2015). In the Xbox app on my phone I can see Minecraft and it gives me the option to Install (does nothing) or Play (which opens Minecraft in the Store on the Xbox but it
tells me I already have it, no option to launch/install). I can find no way of getting it to install on the Xbox. What am I doing wrong? Feel like I'm going round in circles!

Minecraft: Windows 10 Edition runs specifically on Windows 10. If you would like to play Minecraft on Xbox One, you will want to take a look at Minecraft:
Xbox One Edition. If you would like to install the Windows 10 version of Minecraft on your Windows 10 PC, sign into the account that originally redeemed the code and download through the Windows Store.

I own minecraft "windows 10 edition" on xbox one but isn't availabile on windows 10....

There is no "Windows 10 Edition" on the Xbox One.

On the Xbox One, there was a "Minecraft Xbox One Edition" but that has been replaced with just "Minecraft".

As the others already said, "Minecraft" is not a Play Anywhere title, so owning "Minecraft" on the Xbox One, doesn't give you "Minecraft Windows 10 Edition" on the PC.

However, if you own Minecraft Java Edition on PC, you can log into your Mojang Account on PC, and can get a code for the Windows 10 Version.

If you have Minecraft Bedrock Edition for Xbox One, then you would be able to use that to install Minecraft from the Windows 10 store and play yes. Is that what you're asking for? Should be able to get it from the Windows 10 store and searching for Minecraft.

Xbox Play Anywhere games list yet. That means you would have to purchase the Windows 10 version to install it on your Windows 10 PC. Hope this helps
