    Can you insert a disc into the Xbox one while a game is being installed?


    I just got an Xbox One as an early Christmas present. The Sunset Overdrive bundle. I just want to know can you insert a disc, a DVD for example into the Xbox One while a game is being installed. I've heard the installing takes a long time and I want
    to be able to watch a DVD while the game Sunset Overdrive is being installed onto my Xbox One.

    Can you insert a disc into the xbox one when installing a game bought from the marketplace?

    I just got an Xbox one. Before I begin setting up the console I want to know. Can you insert a disc into the Xbox say a DVD while your installing a game as I got the Sunset Overdrive Xbox One Bundle and I want to know if I'll be able to watch a DVD while
    the game installs as I've heard installation of games takes awhile.

    Use these instructions from Microsoft.com to install your game to the hard drive..

    1. Insert the game disc into the disc drive.

    Note After you insert the disc, the default option is to automatically start the game. If this happens, exit the game and return to the Xbox Dashboard.

    2. From the Home hub, Select the game in the drive tray and press X on your controller that you want to install.

    3. Select Install.

    4. A progress indicator appears while your game is being installed on your hard drive.

    Note Installing an Xbox 360 game might take 12 minutes.

    Yes, you can play games or watch movies while digital games are installing.

    It's now says the game Sunset Overdrive is ready but the installation is only at 28% and I still can't insert a disc.

    1. If you're installing a game disc...NO!

    2. If you're downloading a digital game installation Yes, BUT....You have to have the BlueRay app to play a movie disc. This is something you have to download independently as the default Xbox One will not play movies.

    I don't own a single Blu-ray. All I own are normal DVDs. Can I play those without an app?

    No, All dvd, blueray movies and CDs require apps to play

    The OP mentioned he got the bundle which should have been a digital download for the game.

    As for Sunset Overdrive being ready, you should be able to play a small part of it while it continues to download in the background.

    You can download the app from the App Store on the console.

    As for Sunset Overdrive being ready, you should be able to play a small part of it while it continues to download in the background.
