can you download xbow One S updates to your laptop and transfer the update to your xbox latter

There is an offline system update tool where you can go online and download the system update to a USB drive and then bring that drive and plug it into your xbox and hold down a couple buttons while turning it on and it will do the update that way.

This tool is more for people that have problems with their systems not updating correctly through the normal means but I do not see why this would not work in your situation too.

I have the same problem, I CAN play online, but its the downloading the updates which is the problem. I did try the direct router connect and yes it works, but its very inconvenient as I'm sure some of you are aware, but I have another solution. What I did
at one point, just to download the updates,'is get your laptop or computer that is reasonably near your Xbox, then bridge the connection from your router to your pc, making your PC and access point. Then connect an Ethernet cable from the laptop/pc to your
Xbox and download the update. As for a long term solution, I have no idea. I'm so pissed off with this. I think it may be a problem with the router, but I can play online once the updates are done with no problem.

There currently isn't an option for that I'm afraid. Is there a particular reason you want to download 4K games to your Xbox One S?

As I explained in my initial post, I want to download them in preparation for when I receive my Xbox One X. Then I can use the option to transfer the data from my One S to the One X.

When will the option become available? It makes no sense that you shouldn't be able to review the 4K updates like you do for normal updates. Is this going to be an issue when I receive the One X as well?

Using a USB device memory is a good idea and a way to make a backup, but have one problem...

Some games (like Mass Effect francise =1,2 and 3),have a protection and can have only one archive and block the copy(even for backup!!!).

I have do this all process twice (one for myself in the same 360 i transfer the data from 20GB hd to a OEM 320GB hrad drive and another, helping a friend to transfer from fat model to a slim 250GB model), when you start up your machine IF YOU USE THE MS
ORIGINAL CABLE, and that is correct conceted the system isn´t enter in dash and imediatily detect the hard drive and ask´s if you want transfer data and (if didn`t jump press butons in hurry to "speed up" the process)ask´s what you want to transfer (if i remeber
is 3 options: Transfer all data, Transfer profiles ONLY or Transfer specific files.

Some observations about that...

When you select to transfer all data that transfer really all you have in hard drive, less two things...if you have optional updates, you have to download that again (like if you have downloaded the optional media update or the optional update to Xbox originals,
you have to go in your download history and down again that update.
