    Hi! So I just bought a series S and replaced by One S. I always leave my Xbox on energy saver mode which I know doesn’t allow games to be downloaded while the console is off which I’m fine with. The issue is that when I start downloading a game then turn the console off, once I’m back on the game is installed despite the Xbox being on energy saver. Is this a new feature on the Series S or is something wrong with the Xbox? Thank you!

    Console turns on by itself.

    Hey Berna -

    Which mode is your console set to:
    Instant On or Energy Saver    ? And do you have background downloads enabled? It sounds as if your console is downloading/installing updates while in instant-on mode. Try changing it to energy saver and see if you still experience the issue. :)

    How do I get my Xbox Series X to download games while it’s turned off?

    In settings if I go to sleep mode and startup it only gives me the option for standby or energy saver
    Standby puts the console into a lower power state and continues to download/update games.

    Energy Saver turns off the console. In Energy Saver it's not possible to download games or updates.

    Next Gen games downloads keep stopping when I turn off the console.

    Xbox defaults to Energy saver mode. You will have to switch it to standby for downloads to continue while powered down

    I am having the same issue .I just received my Xbox series x and it keeps shutting off .I followed instructions to get instant mode on and there is no option for instant mode .I have stand by mode and energy saver that’s it .just wanted to see if I can get this issue resolved.thank you
