    Can you disable Live service auto disconnect?


    I need to know if there is some configuration or setting I can change on my Xbox 360 to make my Live sign-in stay alive. I already have it set up for auto sign-in, but it still seems to time out when there is no activity. It seems to disconnect from Live
    service automatically about the same time as the wireless controller shuts off automatically for an unused time-out. Unfortunately, the larger online games, demos and updates take a great deal of time to download. I understand server loads and bandwidth
    bottlenecks at the source, so I don’t complain about these things. However, the Live service auto-disconnect causes these lengthy game downloads and updates to fail. Some, have to be restarted from scratch. And still it fails over time. The active download
    in progress halts immediately when the Live account is auto signed off. Any partner services that are involved, relying on this Live account for authentication, are also terminated at that time. The lost connection from Live services triggers a general error
    on the partner service which aborts any file download that may have been going on at that time. This makes it impossible to utilize online games or updates of moderate to large size, even with high-speed bandwidth, due to lengthy completion requirements of
    overloaded and bottlenecked web servers. Some can be continued from the point of interruption, but still take days or even weeks to complete due to the quick Live auto disconnect issue plaguing every attempt. Others are not able to continue and must be restarted
    from scratch.



    So again, my question is: Can I disable the automatic disconnect from Live services?

    Hi RandomGamer142!

    To clarify, if you disable the auto-renew on your membership, once it expires you can purchase a recurring 12 month Xbox Live membership that auto-renews as well.

    P.S. If anyone there is wondering, the settings “Auto-Downloads” and “Background Downloads” are both set to ON.

    So, it has been almost 4 months now and no reply whatsoever. Are we to just assume that the answer is “no”, “no way”, “absolutely not”? Or, is it being worked on? Has it ever been addressed? Is anyone there even reading these customer problems?

    Sorry to hear about the issue as that sounds frustrating. Is your Xbox 360 Console turning off automatically or is it being disconnected from Xbox Live? Please try each of the steps provided in the guide for 'Xbox
    360 Console turns off unexpectedly
    ' to see if that ameliorates the situation.

    In the event that the issue is not console related but rather network related, Let's give the, 'I'm getting randomly disconnected from Xbox Live!' guide
    a try. If neither of those steps works, please provide the following information so we can investigate further:

    What Country/State/Province do you live in?:

    Modem brand & model number:

    Router brand & model number:

    How many consoles do you have connected to this router?:

    Wired or wireless (for each console):

    If Wireless, are you using a white or black external adapter, or an internal adapter (Xbox 360 S/E)?:

    Things you have tried:

    Do you have a NAT error? If so, what is your NAT type?:

    Is UPnP Enabled?:

    Any Error Codes you encounter:

    Who is your ISP(Internet Service Provider)?:
